I feel amazing, our bodies loose, sweat coating Ian’s chest and mine. I curl into him, the aftershocks running all over me. He kisses me hard and passionately, like he wants me to be the one who receives everything that he’s unleashing as he comes. Then he reaches that edge, and I watch the flash in his eyes as he climbs over it.Īnd in that moment, he grabs my face to kiss me. Ian pins me down by the hips and keeps pumping into me, watching me twist and turn and gasp. I don’t breathe the whole time the shudders take me. It takes me like a crashing wave, drowning me. In you.” Watching me through openly hot eyes, Ian reaches out and flicks the pad of his thumb across my clit. I undulate my body, clutching him for more. I’m so wet he slides easily in, but I feel completely stretched and out of my mind with need for him every time he fills me to the brim. He looks at my bouncing breasts, my reddened breasts, groaning low when I stroke my fingers along his muscular ass. I groan and sink my nails into his muscular shoulders, leaving claw marks and not minding that I do. We hold gazes as he moves, his hand on my ankle as he keeps my leg open around his hips. Beautiful and untamed, he moves powerfully above me.

She then focuses on those Arab societies that played a key role in elaborating the dominant Islamic discourses about women and gender: Arabia during the period in which Islam was founded Iraq during the classical age, when the prescriptive core of legal and religious discourse on women was formulated and Egypt during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, when exposure to Western societies led to dramatic social change and to the emergence of new discourses on women. In order to distinguish what was distinctive about the earliest Islamic doctrine on women, Ahmed first describes the gender systems in place in the Middle East before the rise of Islam. Are Islamic societies inherently oppressive to women? Is the trend among Islamic women to appear once again in veils and other traditional clothing a symbol of regression or an effort to return to a "pure" Islam that was just and fair to both sexes? In this book Leila Ahmed adds a new perspective to the current debate about women and Islam by exploring its historical roots, tracing the developments in Islamic discourses on women and gender from the ancient world to the present. I loved that the story didn't end with her liberation but that we get to see the continuing impact of her time in the service on the rest of her life. It follows American Margie Bauer from postponed nuptials to her harrowing tenure in the Pacific Theater, including a stint in a Japanese internment camp as a POW, and on through to old age. This story is set mostly in the Philippines. I know there have been a few books lately that have been set outside of the European Theater, but I think many more stories are set around the European Theater than the Pacific Theater (just my observation). As my second audiobook of 2019, it definitely set the bar high for this year's list of listens.Ī Pledge of Silence is set during WWII, which is a favorite time period of mine, but it is different than any other WWII story I've read. I saw A Pledge of Silence on the Prime Reading with Audible Narration list back in December, but I was wanting light fluffy reads. Audiobooks really help me get through a lot more books in a year since I can listen while doing other things. This has been such a great thing since my library switched its digital library provider and it sucks. I only recently discovered that with my Amazon Prime membership that I could access free ebooks with Audible narration (I knew that I could get free ebooks, but not the Audible connection). The three have been mostly absent from the web comics and animated shorts that have been Blizzard’s primary means of expanding upon its characters up to this point. The plot synopsis mentions the shield-deploying tank Orisa, her creator Efi, and the DJ medic Lucio as major players, all of whom have been getting the short end of the stick in Overwatch’s external media over the years. The listing is for a book called The Hero of Numbani by author Nicky Drayden, known for her recent works on The Prey of Gods and Temper. The book is notably listed as “Book #1,” hinting that a series is in the works. With a new push comes new lore, and an Amazon listing is hinting that new stories in the Overwatch universe may be coming in the form of books. Given the Switch port and the rumored PVE sequel supposedly set for reveal at Blizzcon next month, Overwatch is in a bit of a renaissance right now. Oh, kings, thought Kell as he fastened the buttons on the coat. Just because he adopted a more modest palette when he was abroad (wishing neither to offend the local royalty nor to draw attention) didn’t mean he had to sacrifice style. Well, a simple black jacket elegantly lined with silver thread and adorned with two gleaming columns of silver buttons. So when Kell passed through the palace wall and into the anteroom, he took a moment to steady himself-it took its toll, moving between worlds-and then shrugged out of his red, high-collared coat and turned it inside out from right to left so that it became a simple black jacket. There were ones that blended in and ones that stood out, and one that served no purpose but of which he was just particularly fond. Not all of them were fashionable, but they each served a purpose. The first thing he did whenever he stepped out of one London and into another was take off the coat and turn it inside out once or twice (or even three times) until he found the side he needed. It had neither one side, which would be conventional, nor two, which would be unexpected, but several, which was, of course, impossible.
